#ProducersCorner – Blaq Soul

His real name is Nkanyiso Mhlongo; started Producing late in 2006, & has been a DJ since 2005. In 2008 after a few years he started producing he formed his very own label “Blaq Soul Music”. Then a year later he then signed his label on afrodesiamp3.com for the purpose of selling his music digitally.

A few months later he had a few of his tracks hitting the “best selling product chart”. Within a short space of time his music became sought after by DJs worldwide and has had a lot of international licensing requests and remixes by the likes of Boddhi Satva, Sean Smith, Abicah Sole, Andy Compton, Justin Imperial, Jose Marquez, Dj Quell, Fabrizio Ortella just to mention by a few. Under his label “Blaq Soul Music” his catalogue has grown impressively and also his status as one of South Africa’s most talented producers.

Again, afrodesiamp3 was more than happy to assist him when he requested help to obtain the rights to remix Busi Mhlongo’s works. Robert Trunes who was very helpful & who understood Blaq Soul’s style gave him a chance & one thing lead to another and after the huge success of the chart topping Awukhu’ Muzi (Blaq Soul’s dance mix) it was inevitable that he had to do more remixes. This lead to the birth of a huge offering (album release) which featured a variety of remixes by Blaq Soul of some of the most prolific artists under the MELT2000 stable (Including Busi Mhlongo, Lungiswa, Sipho Gumede, Madala Kunene).
