Humain, a Saudi Arabia-based AI startup backed by the kingdom's sovereign wealth fund, is set to unveil a groundbreaking voice-controlled operating system called Humain 1 this week, aiming to be the first to officially launch such a comprehensive system to the public.
The new operating system allows users to control their devices entirely through voice commands rather than traditional mouse clicks and icon-based interfaces, with CEO Tareq Amin stating users can now "speak your intent" instead of clicking through discrete applications.
Humain 1 is positioned as a potential successor to Windows and macOS, which have dominated personal computing since the mid-1980s, and has been undergoing internal testing for payroll and human resources systems since the company launched in May.
Established in May under Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Humain aims to position the kingdom as a global AI leader through its portfolio of AI services including data centers, cloud capabilities, and advanced AI models.
CEO Tareq Amin also announced plans to develop approximately 6 gigawatts of data center capacity, though specific locations were not disclosed, as part of the company's broader AI infrastructure strategy.
